This is a wonderful Org that really deserves our support.
Trees For The Future train farmers in agroforestry and sustainable land use – so that they can grow vibrant regional economies, thriving food systems, and a healthier planet.
What makes them of particular interest is they are the people on the ground, getting the job done and working with communities for lasting change.

What they do goes beyond simple greening. In their Mission they state, “We believe in a world where farmers leave a legacy of opportunity through sustainable land practices. We are witnessing farmers reclaiming their agency, breaking the cycles of climate change and generational poverty, and rebuilding our food systems from the ground up.”
Trees for the Future is currently working with thousands of farming families across five countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Over their 30+ year history, they worked around the globe. In 2014, they decided to focus their work in select African countries, where the climatic and economic challenges were most pressing and we could make the greatest impact.

Their work involves them training farmers in their signature methodology: the Forest Garden Approach. I wrote a little about that HERE. They emphasise agroforestry and thoughtful land management and give farmers the resources and knowledge they need to succeed.
My favourite part of their website is the Stories of Impact. Dive in and read about the real life impacts of these projects, the inspiring people behind them and how Trees For The Future are changing communities and people lives for the better. https://trees.org/stories/

If you are looking to support an Environmental Organisation in Africa then pop along here: https://trees.org/support-our-work/ They really are having a measurable impact on people’s lives and the environment and any support you can give them will deliver results on the ground.
